Karnataka’s Yajat Aiyappa KP and Tamil Nadu’s S Keerthi won the junior boys’ and girls’ triathlon crowns respectively with a lead of over two minutes in the inaugural Avadi ITF Triathlon & Duathlon Open held at the Sri Ramachandra Medical College campus in Chennai.
The meet was held as part of the Avadi Police Commissionerate’s campaign to promote an active lifestyle and raise awareness of the harmful effects of substance abuse.
Participants were provided with bicycles for competition use, finisher medal, race kit, hydration support on course and post-race snack.

Triathlon (Sprint distance: 750m swim, 20km cycle, 4km run):
Junior – Boys: 1 Yajat Aiyappa KP (Karnataka) 1:00.39, 2 Sarungbam Athouba Meitei (Manipur) 1:03.12, 3 Telheiba Soram (Manipur) 1:06.42. Girls: 1 Keerthi S (Tamil Nadu) 1:12.23, 2 Durvisha Pawar (Madhya Pradesh) 1:15.15, 3 Dolly Patil (Maharashtra) 1:19.28.
Senior – Men: 1 Adarsh Murlidharan Sinimol (SSCB) 59:51, 2 Khundrakpam Nganba Meitei (Manipur) 1:03.00, 3 Laikhuram Biten (Manipur) 1:03.20. Women: 1 Riddhi Kadam (Gujarat) 1:13.24, 2 Snehal Joshi (Maharashtra) 1:14.01, 3 Deepali Malhotra (Delhi) 1:14.07.
