India made a clean sweep of the podium places in the 2023 South Asian Championships held concurrently with the Asia Cup in Pokhara (Nepal).
In the Sprint race comprising 750m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run, Rahul Shinde won the men’s crown in a time of 1:01.15 to also finish an impressive 11th in the competitive overall field.
Pragnya Mohan clinched her third South Asian women’s title, clocking 1:12.00 in the Sprint race that also saw her take the ninth spot in the overall category.
Khundrakpam Nganba Meitei (1:02.46) and last year’s champion Adarsh Murlidharan Sinimol (1:04.16) bagged silver and bronze respectively in the men’s event, while Sanjana Joshi (1:12.21) and Mansi Mohite (1:13.46) took the second and third places in the women’s event.
